St.Gallen Skate is a challenge for experienced skaters who want to put their skills to the test. The starting point on the lake is Rorschach. The Abbey District of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in St.Gallen lies around 250 metres higher than Lake Constance. However, overall the topography is not very difficult because the ascent occurs gradually over several kilometres.

A small footpath is integrated into the route, but the fun continues on wheels, e.g. on the section on the A1 motorway bridge where the skate trail is suspended under the bridge above the Sitter Ravine. In Bischofszell, St.Gallen Skate merges with the Mittelland Skate route, thus linking it with the other national route, Rhine Skate.

Author’s recommendation

The Abbey District of St.Gallen (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site) with the Abbey Library is well worth a visit.
