Raiffeisen Goldach Water Trail
Along the almost seven kilometre long trail, you can see rare species of animals, trees and plants and various places of interest. But there are also lots of unusual attractions including a Kneipp water therapy station complete with arm and foot bath in Vorderhof, the slow-moving soil flow typical of glaciated regions in the Rantel Forest, the Vita Parcours fitness trail and a fish ladder all with informative descriptions.
After 5 kilometres downstream or 1¼ hours, you come upon the largest playground in Eastern Switzerland. It has lots of fun things for kids including a knight's castle, a rocket slide, 'space ball' climbing frame, ground-level trampoline and fountain. If you want to have a barbecue or a picnic, you can continue on for another 10 minutes to the Horner Forest, which offers sheltered barbecue areas and Kneipp foot bath stations, a form of hydrotherapy that was created by the Bavarian priest and one of the forefathers of the naturopathic medicine movement, Sebastian Kneipp.
From here you can take a swim at the Goldach beach in the afternoon or keep walking another 20 minutes towards the final destinations of Horn in the west or Rorschach in the east.
