Fürstensteig Trail

The hike begins on the scenic Alp Gaflei at 1400 meters above sea level. Passing green alpine meadows and mountain pines, the path leads high above Vaduz and Schaan offering unique views. Liechtenstein’s alpine region is reached on a gentle ascent above Alp Garsälli. The Fürstensteig is a very special experience. Exposed passages are secured with wire cables and railings. From Gafleisattel, the Drei Schwestern can be seen to the north. One passes these to reach Alp Gafadura situated above Planken. A shorter route that leads to the starting point on Gaflei is the hike through the so-called chimney, which is also known as the “Chemi”. 

 

From the chimney, the path leads past mountain pines then down to Alp Bargälla and the Bargälla-Sattel, where it is possible to enjoy splendid views of the entire Liechtenstein Alps together with their valleys and peaks. It is now only a short distance to the starting point of Gaflei.
